lower image quality in javascript

I'm looking for a method (using html5/canvas) or library to downsample images in javascript. I'm looking to reduce the file size of the image but not to resize it (height and width stay the same).

All I can find is library to resize the image dimension, most of which are quality lose free. Is there any good library to loose quality ?
