How do I link resolution of image to image file using img src="http://ift.tt/17NapqQ" width="800" height="600"

I am starting a wallpaper website on self hosted wordpress.

I want to display the thumbnail of the wallpaper and below it I want to display a few resolutions like 800x600, 1280x1024 and on click of the resolution, I want to display the image of that resolution in new tab. I want to know if this can can be done by using . It need not save the resized file to disk.

Can I set it to get the image name automatically rather than i have to enter it manually.?

I am a noob. Please help me.
