Counting overlapped coins on the image

I have to write a program, which counts coins on the image.

But I don't know what to do if they overlap as shown here:

Please, tell me if you know some algorithm for this task.

I'm allowed to use any libraries and languages, but I'm familiar only with C++ and Python.
