detecting burrs and flaws on parts

I am doing some image processing to detect burr and flaw on parts. The defect is similar as the one here: Sorry, I can't post the link here. Please google detecting burrs and flaws on resin moulded parts. The algorithm here also interesting. However, I can't figure how to do that in C or C++. Could you suggest some methods to detect burrs and flaws. Also, how can I do the Keyence algorithm above in C++.
